To cross each other is to intersect.

The place where 2 (or sometimes more) roads meet is called an Intersection.

Simiiarly, 2 lines that meet each other are called Intersecting lines and the point they meet is called Point of Intersection.

Intersection means crossing each other. If we are talking about where 2 lines intersect then we are talking about where they touch/cross each other.
