How do I multiply out expressions with brackets?

    The main thing you need to do is multiply everything in the first bracket by everything in the second bracket.
    So for something like (x+1)(x+2) we will get 4 terms.
    After that collect all alike terms (this means group together all the terms with x after them and all the terms that are numbers, etc)

    (x+1)(x+2) = x^2 + x + 2x + 2 = x^2+3x+2
